I’m running for Travis County Judge because I want to make sure Travis County remains a safe community with a vibrant economy that is an affordable place for families to live.
Over the past year and a half or so, our local government has severely compromised public safety with its homeless policy and now taking 150 police officers off the streets. We are already seeing crime increase, and people no longer feel safe like they used to.
Most of this has been caused by the City Council, but the County can fill in a lot of this gap. The Sheriff’s Office can enforce trespassing and environmental laws to curb the problem of homelessness. We can also add Sheriff’s officers and patrols to fill in the public safety gap caused by the City’s actions.
